CELEBRATING THE 75TH EDITION OF THE NATIONAL GARMENT FAIR!
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the next edition of APPAREL, the official magazine of The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India.
In January 2024, CMAI drew the curtains to the 78th edition of the National Garment Fair in Mumbai. The popular and comprehensive
trade show has emerged as the frontrunner in the domestic sector and has served as a prominent platform to procure and exhibit excellence
in Apparels—and this edition was no exception.
February 2024 saw the conclusion of Bharat Tex 2024—one of the largest global textile events held at Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. Organised by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils along with leading Trade Associations
including CMAI, and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, it celebrated the seamless fusion of culture and business, and honoured the intricate legacy that defines India.
A wonderful initiative of Bharat Tex 2024 was the CEO Roundtable—an exclusive meet between the Textile Ministry officials and the who’s who of the industry. CMAI was honoured to be given the responsibility for conducting this Roundtable and the Ministry of
Textiles and offered a platform for brainstorming and charting ways for sustainable growth of the Indian retail sector.
On that note, CMAI is all set to welcome visitors and participants at the fourth edition of the FAB Show— a ground breaking event that transcends the boundaries of traditional textile exhibitions—set to take place from 15-17 April 2024 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. With an ambitious goal of hosting 200+ exhibitors in a 2,00,000 sq. ft. area, the edition will set the stage for a future-forward vision, with CMAI aiming to build the largest supply chain exhibition cum-trade show in the garment industry over the next few years.
Meanwhile, an overview of the textile MSMEs shows tremendous growth and is leading the way to promoting employment in India. MSMEs are now focussing on integrating Technology and Sustainibility into their processes to ensure that the highest global standards are met. Only then the industry will be able to contribute towards taking the country to its goal of being a developed nation by 2047.
Once again, I extend a warm welcome to the visitors and participants at the FAB Show.
With warm regards,
RAJESH MASAND
