As most of you would be aware, 7th August was celebrated as HANDLOOM DAY by the Ministry of Textiles.
CMAI had extended strong support to this initiative – not just as a measure of our support to the Weavers who strive to maintain the traditional craft of India, but also as a small effort to kick-start consumption in our Industry.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the Brands and Retailers who backed our commitment to the Minister of Textiles to promote this initiative, even though many of them did not have a Handloom product in their range. This unstinted support saw the message of support to Handloom being communicated on an unprecedented scale to 30 Million Consumers across India.
