Dear Sir,
We are enclosing herewith Amendment to Apprenticeship Act, 1961 vide Gazette Notifications S.O. 4072 (E ) and Amendment to Apprenticeship Rules 1992 vide G.S.R. 610 (E), both dtd 3rd September 2025 issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India, New Delhi whereby the Central Government have expanded its scope of the Act, redefined key terms, and revised minimum stipends.
Please also find enclosed herewith a note on the Key Amendments for easy reference of our Members.
These Amendments are a good step and have increased financial support, improved inclusivity, and modernized the system for employers and apprentices with more flexibility in training. For employers, this means new compliance burdens, but also the potential for a more skilled and diverse workforce. This is very beneficial to our MSME Members as it lowers the cost of getting trained workers.
We strongly request our Members with more than 30 staff to take note of these amendments in detail and implement the same at the earliest and benefit from the same. In case you need any further clarity you can get in touch with the Association
