TO ALL MEMBERS IN MUMBAI AND MAHARASHTRA:

Dear Members, 

Maharashtra has announced a series of measures to contain the spread of Covid which has seen a huge spike recently.

Giving below is CMAI’s interpretation of the measures relating to our Industry’s Manufacturing activities. Please bear in mind that these are own understanding of the measures. IT IS BEST TO RECONFIRM WITH YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

1. All manufacturing activity other than those specified are prohibited.
2. All Export related manufacturing is permitted.
3. The Notification does not specify that the unit has to be an EOU – therefore even non-EOUs but engaged in Export production are allowed to operate.
4. If a Factory is manufacturing for both Exports and Local, only the Export Production is permitted.
5. Export Production is permitted whether it is against direct orders or job-work or FOB basis.
6. However, all such Factories must follow the Covid-19 protocols with Workers/Staff such as Covid Testing, measuring of Temperature at entrance, frequent Washing of hands, staggered timings for Lunch breaks etc.
7. If your Factory has Dormitory facilities, or has workers staying within the Factory premises, manufacturing is permitted in such Factories whether for Exports or Local.
8. In such Factories, Managerial staff up to 10% are permitted to attend from out of the premises.
9. E-Commerce is permitted only in essential categories. Garments are not included.

ONCE AGAIN, IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO RECONFIRM THE RULES FROM YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
